Whilst there are lots of glorious places to eat in and around Bedford, Team Clanger like to tell you about the extra special events that are a little bit further afield.
2016 marks the 100 year anniversary of the birth of Roald Dahl with many special things planned all over the country – check out the Roald Dahl website for more information. However there is one event that we would love to go to – if we dare!! For a limited time you can dine with Mr & Mrs Twit at their Upside Down Cocktail Cavern in The Vaults at Leake Street in London.
Brought to you by Les Enfants Terribles theatre company, who recently created the Olivier Award nominated ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’, this new production is just for adults – no nasty, nosey little children are allowed!
You will be welcomed into their windowless house and ghastly garden and offered a cocktail – you may want to fish the eyeball from it before drinking! Your canapes will be hidden in the garden and only the bravest will hunt for them! You will then be served a gastronomic delight of a baroque bird pie banquet and potentially perilous pudding! Whilst you enjoy this fine fare you will be treated to 90 minutes of entertainment………………….from the worst hosts ever!
If your taste buds aren’t brave enough to try these culinary delights you can visit The Twit’s Upside Down Cocktail Cavern for questionable cocktails and tantalising tinctures!
The season runs until 30th October and is proving popular so book your tickets quick!
Standard tickets range from £76.50 to £91.50 to include food, a cocktail and half a bottle of wine/soft drink options or you can upgrade to premium, £96.50 to £111.50, to include an additional fizz cocktail, a bar of Mr & Mrs Twits choicest chocolates and a hot drink after dinner.
