9. Redelivered Mail Art Show

Mail Art is – according to Wikipedia – a populist artistic movement centred on sending small scale works through the postal service. It initially developed out of the Fluxus movement in the 1950s and 60s, though it has since developed into a global movement that originally came to Bedford in 2012. This month, Mail Art is ‘redelivered’ to Bedford, thanks to artist Anne-Marie Stijelja.  “The exhibition at the Basement @ Bunyan will be a chance to see the original artwork from the 2012 show, plus new submissions,” said Anne-Marie.  “All of the pieces will be for sale for £5, with profits going to the CHUMs charity.”  Following the first Mail Art show at 24 Mill Street (a We Are Bedford pop up venue), the exhibition has been posted to various venues throughout the world, returning home for its final outing. Don’t miss your chance to snap up a bargain from Wednesday 5th – Saturday 8th April.
