Heritage Open Days Bedford

This year’s Heritage Open Days take place on 7th – 10th September and throughout the country, thousands of volunteers will be opening the doors of hundreds of heritage venues, many of which are rarely open to the public.

Many locations and venues in Bedford are taking part in the events and you can find out lots more information here or check out our downloadable PDF below.

While you may be familiar with some of the museums or venues taking part, there will be special Heritage Open Day activities taking place, so they’re well worth another visit!  One of the highlights is a free guided walk with Bedford Tour Guides.  The tour is entitled ‘I Never Knew That’ and is a fascinating insight into the story of Bedford.  The tour is free, but booking is essential. Call 01234 276257 or email sian.hughes@bedford.gov.uk to reserve your place.

Also taking part are Stevington Windmill, Bedford Cemetery, Moot Hall, Bedford Archives and all of the town centre museums.
