Bedford’s bookworms are in for a treat at the end of the month as BookTastic Children’s Book Festival returns for its third year. Sponsored by Rogan’s Books, the event will take place on the grounds of the Panacea Musuem on Newnham Road, Bedford and will feature a host of awesome authors, illuminating illustrators and wonderful workshops.
“We’re really excited for this year’s event,” said Rachael Rogan, founder of BookTastic and owner of Rogan’s Books. “The festival has seen huge growth since its inception and we’ve developed some great partnerships with national publishers. This year the activities will take place over four days, so there’s lots of opportunities to take part and be inspired.”
Younger readers will have the chance to meet authors and illustrators including Julia Jarman, David Litchfield, Lou Treleavan and Jo Empson while older bibliophiles can hear from Helen Moss, Steve Cole, James Nichol and AF Harrold among others. Workshops will be hosted by Creative Days, Tatty Bumpkins, Anne-Marie Stijelia, Jane Perrone, Frogs’ Chorus and Mique Moriuchi among others.
