Got something that’s broken, that you think could be repaired if only you knew how? Do you hate the thought of throwing things away simply because you don’t have the know-how or necessary tools? Then help is at hand!
The BedPop fixers are back at the Higgins on 20th May to host the BedPop Repair Shop, and this time they’re joined by upcylcer extraordinaire, Max McMurdo.
To book your repair slot, go to https://bedpoprepairshop.youcanbook.me/ and follow the instructions.
Max, host of TV’s Fill Your Home for Free and Shed of the Year, will be joining the BedPop team of fixers to bring life back to old furniture, vacuum cleaners, jeans, bikes and more. The BedPop Repair Shop will be open for business at the Higgins Bedford on Saturday 20th May from 11am – 5pm to give a new lease of life to your broken belongings.
At 12.30pm, Max will be hosting a Q&A session , so join him in the Higgins’ courtyard for some top tips and ‘make do and mend’ ideas.
At 11am, 1pm and 3pm, Emmaus will be holding FREE upcycyling workshops, giving an old dining chair a new lease of life. The team from Emmaus will bring along a selection of chairs to choose from – completely FREE – and during the 90 minute workshop, participants will learn the techniques to transform a neglected chair into a show-stopping piece of furniture. There will be a small cost for equipment, supplied by Goldings of Bedford.
Flamme Rouge will be on hand in the courtyard to give the once over to bikes and Goldings will have a stall, selling DIY essentials. The ReUse Centre‘s Donatation Station will be accepting working electricals and small furniture and can advise about larger donations.
Bring your broken toasters, frayed jeans or wonky bikes and the BedPop team of experts and handy dandies will do their best to make them better. The event is supported by the Bedford Reuse Centre, Goldings and Flamme Rouge.
Everything is free, but donations are welcome.
