With just over a month to go until Bedford Park hosts this year’s concerts, Lloyd Lugsden was lucky enough to grab an EXCLUSIVE (and very quick) chat with Britain’s number one selling female artist, and headlining this year’s Saturday night belter – Jess Glynne.
Jess will be taking to the stage on Saturday 4 August when audiences at Bedford Park will be treated to all her hits including her SEVEN number one singles, making her the most successful UK female artist of all time. Support is from Basement Jaxx, so the joint will most definitely be jumping! We just cannot wait…
Lloyd’s classic Clanger opener: Been to Bedford before?
Jess Glynne: Not that I can remember…
Bedford Clanger: What’s on the rider?
JG? Nothing exciting that’s worth talking about if I’m really honest haha!
BC: What would your dream festival line up be?
JG: That’s crazy hard but something like this: Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Beyoncé, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Jay Z and Eminem.
The list is endless if I’m honest!!
BC: At what age did you realise you could sing?
JG: When I was about 6 or 7 I realised I had something not everyone had. I thought everyone could just sing like I could but turned out that I was wrong.
BC: No place you’d ‘rather be’? Where’s that then?
BC (channelling his inner Smash Hits’ interviewer): What would you be if you weren’t an international pop star?
JG: I have no idea!
BC: Anyone you’d like to collaborate with?
JG: A lot of people. I would love to write with The Dream or Kanye.
BC: Last film you went to see?
JG: Can’t even remember. That’s how long it’s been!
BC: What’s your screensaver?
JG: Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss.
BC: Thanks! See you in August!
