BedPop Repair Shop is back!

Saturday 28 July 2018 from 10.30am

Tavistock Community Centre

Got something that’s broken, that you think could be repaired if only you knew how? Do you hate the thought of throwing things away simply because you don’t have the know-how or necessary tools? Then help is at hand!

On Saturday 28 July, the BedPop Repair Shop’s talented volunteers will be at the Tavistock Community Centre in Bedford to show you how to fix your broken toaster or moth-eaten jumper!

“We’ve been running the BedPop Repair Shops since 2016,” said organiser, Katie Allen.  “We’re really excited to be back and to be popping up at the Tavistock Community Centre.  Bring in your faulty stuff and our volunteers will go through the problem with you and show you the tools and skills to get the job done. They might even let you loose with a sewing needle or soldering iron!”

To book, go to: bprs2018.eventbrite.co.uk

We can help with most household items such as:

– clothes, textiles: worn holes, replace broken zip, dropped hems

– toys: teddies and dollies can visit our toy doctor to repair rips, weak joints

– electrical items: small kitchen appliances, hair dryers, small gardening equipment, radios, lamps

– general repairs: small furniture items, tinkering with bikes

Said Katie: “We’re so lucky that our volunteers give us their time for free.  If you would like to thank our Fixers, you can leave a ‘tip’ to buy them a well-earned coffee (Or pint!)”

This is a drop in event but booking is essential.  You can choose a morning or afternoon slot to help the team manage demand. Please book and include as much detail as possible about your repair. Parking is free for two hours at Queen’s Street Car Park.
