This month’s Best of Bedford is brought to you by the legend that is Gary Hooper, owner of GCH Fishmongers, who was recently awarded the Master Fishmonger, by the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers. Gary was presented with this prestigious award by the Worshipful Company’s Prime Warden, HRH Princess Royal at a ceremony at the Livery Companies Hall on London Bridge on Tuesday 12 June.
“As the only retail fishmonger in Bedford and the surrounding area, we feel we offer a great service to our customers, with a wide range of fish and shellfish sourced from all over the UK and Europe,” said Gary. “The Fishmongers’ Company, one of the 12 great Livery Companies in the City of London, has recognised my hard work over the years, in training, development, ethical sourcing, excellence in customer service and overall knowledge of the seafood industry and felt that I had the skills and attributes that warrant this prestigious award.”
We couldn’t agree more and Bedford is very lucky to have such a widely respected and knowledgeable fishmonger in our town.
