This Friday, the team behind the Bedford Clanger will launch Explore Bedford – a website and PR campaign to promote the best of Bedford Borough to visitors and residents alike.
From heritage and culture to shopping and leisure, the Explore Bedford website will be full of recommendations for days out, what to do and where to stay. The blog and social media channels will share interactive content and our PR and marketing campaign will spread the word in the national, regional and local press as well as online.
The launch coincides with the opening of a new volunteer-run Visitor Information Centre at St Paul’s Church, highlighting the need for tourism and visitor provision in the Borough.
“Bedford is growing and more and more people are moving to the area,” said Clanger editor and Explore Bedford co-founder, Erica Roffe. “We need to showcase the brilliant things to do in the Borough to encourage residents and visitors to come and spend their time (and money) here. Our PR and marketing campaign will promote the wealth of things to see and do in Bedford. From the Panacea Museum to Foster Hill Road Cemetery, Box End Water Park to the best of Bedford’s independent retailers (#bedfordindies) – we’ve got it covered.”
Explore Bedford is an evolution of the Bedford Clanger, which was established in 2011 to raise awareness of Bedford as a cultural destination. “Over the last seven years, the Clanger has helped change perceptions of the town, increased cultural engagement and pride in the town,” said Erica. “The Bedford Clanger will become part of the Explore Bedford package – sharing our love of the Borough to encourage more people to come and spend time here.”
