Music: Miserere by Candlelight

Saturday 24th February at Bedford School Chapel

Join Gaude – Bedford’s professinoal chamber choir – for a candlelit performance of Gregorio Allegri’s iconic Miserere and James MacMillan’s haunting and highly personal response to it.  The evening features old and new paired settings of the same texts, including works by Purcell, Gabrieli, Lauridsen and Tavener and a new commission from Bedford-based composer Duncan Fraser.

Tickets are £15 (under 18s just £5) and can be purchased from the website.

Gaude includes past and present members of some of this country’s most celebrated choirs, including King’s, St John’s and Trinity Colleges in Cambridge, New College Oxford and The Sixteen.  A thrilling evening of unaccompanied singing awaits.
