Put the ‘fun’ into fundraising (and get your photo in the Clanger)…

It’s that time of year when you can barely move for trainee marathon runners.  They’re pounding the streets from early morning til late at night, aiming to make it round the 26.2 mile course on 22nd April, raising millions of pounds in sponsorship on the way.

One such runner from Bedford is Esther Snelson.  Esther is raising money for Anthony Nolan and has planned a  #FunFebruary month of activities.  Throughout the month there will be a number of events you can sign up to, all with the aim of helping Esther reach her fundraising goal.  And if you take part in one of them, you might even see your name (and photograph) in the Clanger…2323232323

Want to get involved?  Here’s how you can:

Photo a day

Facebook event page:

Each day throughout February take a photo linked to the theme of the day and share it on the facebook group.

While anyone can take part only those who donate a minimum of £5 will receive the full list in advance, have access to useful hints, tips and given free online photography courses, and be entered into our Photo a Day competition.

All photos taken should be uploaded to the Fun February Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/FunFebruary/

Each day one photo will be chosen as our favourite, and top three most popular pictures, decided by the number of likes at the end of the month will be featured in the April issue of The Bedford Clanger.

Virtual Marathon:

Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/236409760233639/

Join Esther in running/walking/crawling the distance of a Marathon or mini marathon during February, and raise money for Anthony Nolan.

You don’t have to be a ‘runner’, this is about having fun, and completing it your way, at your own pace, in your own time.

You just have to commit to running at total of 26.2 miles or for those doing the mini marathon 10 miles between the 1st February and midnight on Wednesday 28th February.

Everyone who takes part will have get their own bib number and those who complete the virtual marathon will receive a medal.

The virtual marathon costs £15 to enter, and you can sign up via the link below (booking fee applies)
