Christmas at Ready Steady Roll
Make your own family board game
Wednesday 5 and Wednesday 19 December at 5.30pm
Get Christmassy, creative and cosy, making your own Christmas version of the traditional German board game, Shadow in the Forest.
Shadow in the Forest (or Waldschattenspiel if you speak German!), is a family game where an adult controls a witch trying to capture elves, played by the children. The game is played in the dark with the witch being a candle and the elves hiding in the shadows of the trees. To make the game more Christmassy, the elves are playing a game of hide and seek with Father Christmas.
Once you have finished your creation, you will have access to the RSR board game library to play some more games with the usual guidance and rule explanations from the Games Gurus.
When everyone has finished, the lights will be turned off for a simultaneous Waldschattenspiel game. You can then take your games home to play at Christmas Eve before the children go to bed and wait for Father Christmas to arrive!
The cost of the workshop is just £20 per family of up to 4. £5 per additional guest.
Suitable for children aged 6+. This is a family activity, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Drinks and food will be available to purchase while you create and play too!
Saturday 8 December 7 – 10pm
Join us at Ready Steady Roll for an evening of games, including recommendations and guidance from our games guru all evening, with over 200 games to play and soft drinks and cake available to purchase on the night!
Choose between having pizza on the night, with also the option to bring your own booze for a small corkage fee!
