This Sunday (12th May), the Bedford Flea will be back in St Paul’s Square from 11am – 4pm. Stallholders will be selling everything from furniture to clothes, collectables to vinyl and the Affordable Art Market will showcase some of Bedford’s best artists. This year will see the first local producers’ market, so visitors will be able to pick up seasonal and locally made food.
Plan your day: Arrive and grab a coffee from Libby at La Piazza. Browse the flea stalls, chat to the traders and make your purchases. Pop across the road to Made in Bedford at Number 13 to buy some locally made loveliness and pick up some vegan-friendly food. Next door, the Oxfam shop has an amazing range of second-hand books and vinyl to browse and buy. Head back to St Paul’s Square to check out the Affordable Art Market and local producers’ stalls and then over the High Street to the Cultural Quarter for great restaurants, fab independent shops (Boyd’s of Bedford and Rogan’s Books), plus the Higgins, John Bunyan and Panacea museums. Finish off your afternoon with a riverside drink at either the Embankment, the Longholme or the Bedford Swan Hotel’s new bar, the Pen and Cob. Cheers!
Bedford Flea takes place in St Paul’s Square on Sunday 12 May, 21 July and 8 September. If you would like to be a stallholder, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
