Born here or blow in? Born here 🙂
Best thing about Bedford? The people! So many events and independent businesses are born here and it’s because of the enthusiasm from the people who run them and those that support them too.
Best place to get a coffee or cuppa? The Longholme – friendly people, a perfect view of our fabulous river and puppy-friendly too!
Best breakfast? D’Parys – I’d recommend D’Parys for any meal but breakfast there caters for all tastes and my kids love the pancakes!
The one place you’d recommend to visitors? Ready, Steady, Roll board game cafe – because it is just the best concept! It makes people connect in a world where everything is digital and it’s great for all the family.
Ever read John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress? Yes – at school…it was enforced I think 🙂
Bedford’s best boozer? The Foresters has the friendliest atmosphere and the perfect sun trap patio in summer!
Best Bedfordian? There are so many! Any Bedfordian who has had a dream or an idea and have made it into a business has a place in my heart.. But particularly I’d say Emma Garrett for turning The kiosk and the Pavillion at the park from desolate buildings into thriving communities and championing the wonderful Soupfest – I’m sure she doesn’t sleep she works so hard!
Ever eaten a Bedfordshire Clanger? Yes! When I was at lower school my school turned 100 years old and had a big celebration, we all dressed as Victorian’s and ate clangers for lunch, surreal but true!
Three words that sum up Bedford: Beautiful, Brilliant, Home
