Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice is holding a pop-up Engagement Day in Bedford on Thursday 15th November so that local people can find out more about the vital services it provides in the community.
The hospice, which is located in Moggerhanger, provides expert palliative care, advice and support for people in Bedford and across the rest of the county who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families.
The hospice’s services are constantly developing and are offering more care to more people in the community. As well as the 15-bed inpatient unit, the hospice has recently launched new day therapy service and operates a Palliative Care Hub of community nurses to support people who choose to receive care at home.
The Engagement Day is a chance to meet the teams that work in healthcare, family support, fundraising and volunteering. People will have the chance to talk to staff and volunteers about their roles at the hospice and the services they provide.
The hospice will also take the opportunity to say thank you to local people for their support and explain how their donations support its work in the community.
Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice, which last year provided around 105,000 hours of support, offers its services to patients and their families free of cost.
The Engagement Day will take place at The Park Inn, Bedford, MK42 0AR on Thursday 15th November.
People are welcome to pop in and join the team at any time between 11am and 2pm and stay for as long as they wish.
At 11.30am and 1pm, the Hospice’s Director Lisa Maclean will give a talk about the work of the hospice and its exciting plans for the future.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will also be provided.
